It’s the peak of summer, but Good Housekeeping magazine wants you to write about the stuff that Valentine’s Day is made of. Enter your nonfiction story about your first love or a crush or the one who got away and win some cash prize, plus possible publication.

All About Love

The new writing contest is called “All about Love.” There is no fee to enter, but take note of the following:

Eligibility: The new writing contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada, except Quebec. You must be 21 years old or older to join the contest. Only one entry per person will be allowed.

Submission: The story must be about your love for someone or something. It must be nonfiction, original, and unpublished. Email your story of 2,500 to 3,000 words to lovestorycontest@goodhousekeeping.com. Include your full name, phone number, and mailing address in the email and the submission itself.

Deadline: Midnight of Sept. 1, 2014 (Eastern Time).

Prizes: One winner will receive $2,000 and possible publication of the winning story in a future issue of the magazine or on goodhousekeeping.com.
